THE WINES OF BURGUNDY

Taught over two evenings (Thursday 28th August and Thursday 4th September), guests enjoyed a virtual tour of all the major villages in Burgundy’s iconic Cote d’Or region, and tasted a benchmark wine from each. All wines were hand-selected from leading producers within each village, and were appropriately served in fine Plumm glassware. In addition all guests received a hard-back copy of the comprehensive tome- ‘Inside Burgundy’ by Jasper Morris MW (valued at $95)

EXPLORING BOUTIQUE PRODUCERS AND THE ‘NATURAL WINE’ MOVEMENT

natural wine explanation“They don’t have cellar doors, or budgets for flashy marketing. They don’t enter their wines into competitions. You won’t see their wines on the shelves of chain liquor stores. Sommeliers clamour to get their hands on the latest vintage to list in Australia’s most renowned restaurants, and in-the-know wine lovers are drawn to them like moths. They are the risk-taking winemakers throwing out the rulebook and rocking the boat of WA’s wine scene.
